After a2 1/2 hour flight, we arrived to a bright blue sky and scorching hot weather (which apparently hasn't happened in months). Luis, the head of the College we are working with met us at the airport and after accidentally running away from him we met him and we're on our way. The Metro is a great form of transport after fully realising how it works, not that we have yet, AT ALL. But it is quick and with a bit of common sense it is actually extremely easy to navigate yourself around the city. We started our trip by taking a walk through the main street in Lisbon before quickly becoming distracted by the hardcore vibes coming from the Hard Rock Cafe! We had a de-luz-full meal before heading off to Bairro Alto to check out some of this famous social gatherings that we have been hearing about for so long. We sat ourselves down on pillows on the street and took in the surroundings before moving on to explore more of the beautiful culture surrounding us. We had a great night and a lovely sleep in our hotel, which did I mention has balconies and beautiful views from every window.
Luz - Light.
Luz - Light.
Waking up to rays of sunlight is something we could all definitely get used to, today we met Luis who brought us on a scenic route to the College, Escola Digital. While constantly taking in the energy and culture of the city. After arriving outside extravagant architecture, we went inside and ended up being surrounded by different Portuguese 'restaurantes' and Burger King, obviously. Soon after finishing we made our way to 'Estadio de Luz' with the boys from the Level 6 Sports Development course. We were given a guided tour of the new museum (which has some crazy digital media) and learnt quite a lot about the city itself. We start our Work Experience tomorrow and we are all looking forward to it, even though we still aren't fully sure what to expect. This experience, even in the first two days is in one word, AMAZING.
